A stunning production which shows the wide range of his talents and includes portraiture, abstractions and pastoral scenes. A clean and tight near fine copy in cloth boards and with some very faint scattered foxing to the page edges in an about very good example of the scarce tissue jacket that is also foxed and with a number of chips and tears. Lacking the very scarce slipcase. Signed by both Steichen and Sandburg on the limitation page. A very nice copy of this classic. Features an essay by Pearl Cleage Lomax. Includes 62 black and white images. A fine copy in cloth boards and in a fine cloth covered two part box. No dust jacket as issued. Signed by Polk on the limitation page and Lomax at her text. Includes an original gelatin silver print of "The Boss." Image is on an 8" by 10" sheet of paper and is window matted and is in very fine condition. Signed by Polk under the image.

Cummington, MA: The Cummington Press, 1946. First edition and first printing. 49 pages. Number XVIII from an edition of 50 copies hand printed on Kelmscott Crown & Sceptre paper from England. A short story from the author of the Pulitzer Prize winning novel "All the King's Men."Features illustrations by Wright Williams. A clean near fine copy in paper covered boards with leather spine with some very minor wear to the spine. No dust jacket. Signed by both Warren and Williams on the colophon page. A lovely copy of this beautiful book.

Pawlet: Claude Fredricks/ Banyan Press, 1958. First edition. Hardcover. Letter I of only 26 copies from a total edition of 526. A slim early book of poems from this Pulitzer Prize and National Book Award winning author. A near fine copy in paper covered boards with a leather spine that has some minor wear and housed in a custom cloth chemise and cloth and leather slipcase. Signed by Berryman. A very nice copy of one of the scarcest titles in the Berryman canon.

Tokyo: Bijutsu Shuppan-sha, 1969. First edition and firstq printing. Hardcover. 223 pages. Ishimoto's second major monograph. Features a foreword by Harry Callahan in English and Japanese. While the book was released in 1969, the images are all from the 1950s and early 1960s and capture an innocence and grace that would soon be a memory in the turbulent later years of the decade. The influence of Ishimoto's years at The Institute of Design is unmistakable but he has his own voice that is beautifully expressed in this striking collection of black and white images. A clean and tight very near fine copy in black cloth boards and in a near fine photographically illustrated slipcase that has some very minor wear Signed by Ishimoto on the title page and dated in 1982. A very pleasing copy of this classic. (Parr & Badger v1, 289).

Atlanta, GA: Nexus Press, 1987. First edition. Hardcover. First printing of only 1000 copies. Burke's best known and most important book that revolves around his travels in Southeast Asia. A fine copy in photo-illustrated boards. No dust jacket as issued. Signed by Burke and with his rubber stamp "actual signature" below it. Also with a laid in original gelatin silver print of the cover image. The photograph is on an 11" x 14" sheet of paper and is in very fine condition and is signed by Burke on the verso. Also with an additional laid in sheet about the printing process. A terrific copy of what is widely considered one of the more important photography books of the last 50 years as evidenced by it's inclusion in the following books: (Roth 258-259: Parr & Badger v2, 40-41).

New York: Darien House, Inc, 1977. First edition. Hardcover. First printing. The first book from magician, actor, and historian Ricky Jay. An often amusing look at how playing cards can be transformed into weapons with numerous illustrations and technical guides. A clean very near fine copy in a close to near fine dust jacket with a couple of tiny tears to the top of the spine and some other very minor wear. Signed and warmly inscribed by Jay on the title page: "For Allen Berlinski kindred spirit and good fried Ricky Jay 18 May 1981." The recipient was an author and collector of magic related material. A very nice copy of the much less common hardcover issue.

Ottawa, Canada: National Gallery of Canada, 1975. First edition. Hardcover. First printing. 320 pages. Published in conjunction with an exhibition that ran May 24 through July 6, 1975. Text in English and French by Brydon Smith. Includes numerous black and white images. A clean and tight near fine copy in a very good spine faded dust jacket that has a few spots to the spine, a tiny spot to the front panel, and some minor wear to the corners and spine ends. Still, a nice copy of this important book that is much less common in the hardcover issue.

Number 18 from an edition of only 300 copies with type set in Fournier at the Golgonooza Letter Foundry by Dan Carr and Julia Ferrari. The text was printed by Wild Carrot Letter Press on Lana Royal. An attractive edition of this classic short novel from Joseph Conrad. Includes four full page and four half-page etchings by Sean Scully. A fine copy in full black leather binding with gilt lettering and in a fine cloth clamshell box. No dust jacket as issued. Signed by Sean Scully on the colophon page. This is a heavy and oversized book and will require extra shipping.

Chicago, IL: Illinois Institute of Technology, 1969. Portfolio. Number 79 of 100. A collection of thirteen original gelatin silver prints of various sizes all dry mounted in white boards. The highlight of the portfolio is one of the best known images from Aaron Siskind: "Jerome, AZ" The print measures 4.5" wide by 6" high and is pencil signed by Siskind beneath the image. The other photographers in the portfolio are: Jerry Aronson, Constance Brenner, Thomas Brown, Barry Burlison, Linda S. Connor, Joe Crumley, Antonio Fernandez, Joseph Jachna, James Newberry, Stephen Ryan, Arthur Siegel, and Karin Vanek. All images are in fine condition and are in a fine plexiglass box that can be used to display the images. All photographs are signed.

New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 1992. First edition and first printings. Harcovers. McCarthy's acclaimed trilogy of novels. All three books in near fine condition or better and in very near fine dust jacket. "All The Pretty Horses" is signed by McCarthy on the half title page and includes a handwritten note from Gary Fisketjon presenting it to a publisher representative. "The Crossing" and "Cities of the Plain" are both signed by McCarthy on tipped in pages done by the publisher. Signed sets are uncommon as McCarthy while not being a recluse didn't do public events or readings for the majority of his later years. A lovely set obtained directly from a publisher representative.

A collection of 33 tipped in photogravure plates with facsimile signatures of the subjects. Includes images of George Bernard Shaw, G.K. Chesterton, George Meredith, H.G. Wells, August Rodin, Henry James, Theodore Roosevelt, W.B. Yeats, Mark Twain, Max Weber, Henry Matisse, and 22 others. A clean and bright near fine copy in cloth boards with some bumping to the corners, some toning to the endpapers, the tissue guards have the usual toning and also have some minor wear and some tears and in a very good plus dust jacket that has a large chip from the base of the spine and some other smaller chips and tears. A near fine copy in green cloth boards with some very minor wear and in a very good plus first issue dust jacket that mentions only 225 titles and with some tiny edge chips, slight wear and some very slight fading to the spine. A very nice copy of this elusive edition in any dust jacket.

A tight very near fine copy in a very near fine dust jacket. Signed by Warhol with his initials on the half title page and additionally signed and inscribed in full by him and with a drawing of a Campbell's tomato soup can. A better formed and less rushed drawing than usual.
