Limited Editions Club, 1988. Limited Edition. Large folio, 547 x 458 mm. The LEC published 820 copies of this book, in three variations. There were Three Poems by Paz, and 27 original lithographs, of different sizes, both single pages and double-paged, with texts. The original Spanish texts of Three Poems are printed in red, with Eliot Weinberger's translations into American English in facing black ink, and hand-typeset at Stamperia Valdonega, with poem 2 printed by Stamperia Valdonega. The other poems were printed by Wild Carrot Letterpress, and Heritage Printers. Paz and Motherwell were both artists and close friends, who collaborated more than once. WHAT IS OFFERED HERE is, perhaps, test pulls of the work, having the three poems, bi-lingually, and 6 of Motherwell's illustrations. LEC publication no. 545.

John D. Morris and Company. Hardcover. Acceptable. in x in x in. This set of volumes 1-20 of The Complete Works of Charles Dickens is a Limited Gadshill De Luxe Edition published by John D. Morris and Company. The books are numbered 881 of 1,000 in the limited release. Overall the set is in acceptable shape, with 9 volumes in good condition and 11 in variations of acceptable. The gilt within the marbling of the covers still shines quite brightly, as well as the gilt page edge at the top. The set maintains moderate to severe scuffing on the edges, although some volumes have chips missing from their spine and boards. The binding is good in all but three volumes, noted in the images as well as below. Text is clean and pages are still in good shape! Some volumes appear to have some form of water damage at the first few pages, although there's only wrinkling and not staining.

Original photo album documenting a fashion show held on Jan. 16-17, 1937, with most photographs taken by Eda Urbani (1908-2001), a female Italian photojournalist who covered the outbreak of the Spanish Civil War in 1936 and later became an interior designer. Urbani's work was the subject of a 2008 traveling exhibition compiled by Turin's Associazione per la Fotografia Storica (which described her "one of the first female photojournalists") and is uncommon at auction. This album includes photos of women sporting fashions by Italian designers, all credited in the captions (Rivella Torino, Gambino Torino, others), and displaying styles emblematic of the period: heavy fur coats, billowy dresses, and hat veils. Altogether a gorgeous display of period fashion, and a fine record of the photo work of Urbani, whose work remains largely unheralded outside Italy.
