Easton Press (2nd Edition, 1984). Dark green leather boards with gold moiré endpapers, gold ribbon marker attached. Gilt titles, decorations (minute bit worn away - see photo), all edges gilt. Archival quality paper. The spine is hubbed with raised horizontal bands formed in the leather. Folded map laid in. Clean and unmarked, binding tight.

Issar ( - 2004) was the author of highly-lauded books on the architectural heritage of Bangalore and Mysore cities--THE CITY BEAUTIFUL and THE ROYAL CITY. Paris, KY: Edna Talbott Whitley (1st Edition, 1969). Softcover in protective clear plastic sleeve, 146 pages. Ex-library reference (not circulated), with the expected labels, markings, and wear. Spine is faded, with remains of old clear tape used to reinforce. Inner hinges have been reinforced with clear tape that has yellowed with age. This is the 1st Edition of A CHECKLIST OF KENTUCKY CABINETMAKERS FROM 1775 TO 1859, a very scarce cabinetmaker reference and one of the few places this information was published. Edna Talbott Whitley was born in 1891 in Paris, Kentucky to Robert C. Talbott, a lawyer, and Sallie Scott Grimes. Edna married Wade Hampton Whitley in 1909. Edna became a Kentucky historian and published works including Kentucky Ante-Bellum Portraiture in 1956, George Berk an Eighteenth Century Painter, and in 1969 she compiled this list of cabinetmakers in Kentucky.

Privately published (undated, likely 1st Edition). Softcover, 4-1/2"x8-1/4". Pages age tanned, but clean and unmarked. Cover has a slight water stain top right corner and is bent at top and bottom. Sewn text block intact; spine extremities a bit frayed; edges of covers worn, with a few tiny, closed tears at the edges; cover glued to the text block, fragile at the front hinge.

ABOUT THE BOOK: "These paragraphs and other sketches are compiled from Jessie Perry Stratford's column--Human Interest--in the El Dorado (Kansas) Times and are reproduced as they appeared thruout (sic) the years, with few dates given.
