Rare books from Bottle Rocket Books

Dated 1936, but list of titles in front suggests a later printing. Foxing on endpages and pastedowns, short ink notation on front endpage, binding is slightly cocked but tight. DJ has some edge wear, cover art is clean and bright.

Charles Scribner's Sons, 1953. "A" on copyright page, $2.50 price on DJ. Black marks on edges of boards from old book cover, toning on endpages. DJ has a 2" tape repair that has caused some discoloration, and minor edge wear. See pics. A nice copy in tight binding.

Originally published as three essays in Fraser's Magazine in 1861, this is the first appearance of this important work in book form. Parker, Son and Bourn, 1863. Original cloth. Backstrip is missing, corners are worn, hinges are cracked and fragile but boards are still attached, binding is a little weak but no loose pages, text is unmarked. Previous owners' names on title page and front endpage, mostly in pencil but one in ink. See photos. An excellent candidate for restoration.
