Description:
1883 1st ed SLAVERY Kansas Missouri Border WAR Squatter Sovereign by Humphrey 'The Squatter Sovereign' is a 19th-century historical novel by Mary Humphrey. This work tells the story of the anti-slavery movements in Kansas in the mid-1850s, more commonly known as the Border War between Missouri and Kansas. Humphrey, curiously, seems to praise both free-states and pro-slavery activists throughout this book.
