Description:
A nearly pristine copy of this report, with sun bleaching of spine and previous owner's name stamped on bottom edge and written on inside front cover. Some scratches from shelf wear evident on front cover. The volume is Research Series No. 7 of the Division of Archaeology, Tennessee Department of Conservation. It is a well-written, profusely illustrated report of archaeology carried out at Pinson in the early 1980s, along with a report by Dan Morse from 1983 sponsored by the National Park Service. The volume is a readable overview of the Woodland multimound site with Hopewell connections in western Tennessee. Very rare book.

Description:
A slim but very good publication on the distribution of prehistoric earthen enclosures in the Southeast and Ohio River Valley, and investigations of some at the famous Marksville site in Louisiana. It reports fieldwork and mapping carried out in 1993, adding to the wealth of knowledge that studies at Marksville have yielded. A solid contribution to Hopewellian studies, useful to anyone interested in the fascinating prehistoric Hopewell Culture. In fine condition, with former owner's name stamped on bottom edge and title page. Otherwise unmarked. Stapled binding.
