A near fine example. This work comprises the Acts of Parliament passed in 1509, the first year of King Henry VIII's reign. Some of the Acts of Parliament passed by Henry VIII in 1509 include: Regulating core industries such as fishing and wool, and measures to help finance the Royal Household. Henry VIII inherited a stable Monarchy from his Father, Henry VII, with the King's finances in a very healthy surplus. Upon becoming King in 1509, Parliament had not been requested for finances for five years. This work is a reprinting in circa 1563, approximately five years into the reign of Elizabeth I, Queen of England from 1558 – 1603. Elizabeth I was the daughter of Henry VIII, and his second wife, Anne Boleyn. The Acts of Parliament from 1509 were initially published in 1510 by Richard Pynson. New editions of… Read More

Description:
An Autograph Letter Signed (ALS) by Queen Camilla (then Camilla Parker Bowles), expressing her gratitude to Paul for his letter of support.
ALS. 2pp. on 1 folded sheet of Middlewick House headed notepaper, dated November 9th 1994, a single fold, near fine.
The letter reads as follows:
"Dear Paul,
Thank you so much for your very kind letter. It makes all the difference to me to receive letters from thoughtful people like yourself.
Thank goodness that you are sensible enough not to read the tabloids. They get away with such terrible lies, which we are powerless to do anything about.
Thank you again for your support.
Yours sincerely
Camilla Parker Bowles."
The ALS provides a unique insight into Queen Camilla's thoughts and feelings at this difficult moment in her life and relationship with King Charles. In June 1994, just a few months before the date of the letter, King Charles famously admitted to the relationship with Queen Camilla in a TV interview with Jonathan Dimbleby. After the interview,… Read More

The letter reads as follows:
"Dear Col. Harvey,
I asked my nephew, Samuel Moffett, some time ago to write something for the North American & I promised to submit it to you & see if you wanted it.
The subject is all right - it is the question which is working its way to the front now - & I am partial enough to think it is a good paper. But you are the final court.
Of course I wish Aldrich would consent, for what he says is grand praise & comes from an authority; but I am afraid to ask him. If I had arrived at it through someone else I should not… Read More
