Unity Theatre. 16 page stapled brochure including cast list and period advertisements (one of which advertises a Soviet Music performance on the 13th April, hence the programme pre-dates this).An early programme from the original production of O'Casey's most overtly political play, premiered on March 20, 1940 by the Unity Theatre in London, an amateur left-wing company. Public performances (initially proposed to be at the Welwyn Drama Festival) were banned by the Lord Chamberlain in May 1940. The book was published that year by Macmillan in London, but the firm's New York office rejected the work due to its positive Communist themes. It was not produced in Ireland until 1978.

New Theatre, St Martin's Lane, WC2 (now the Noel Coward Theatre). 16 page stapled brochure including portraits of Sean O'Casey (to cover), Fred O'Donovan and Kathleen O'Regan as well as 2 scenes from the play, cast list and period advertisements. Cast includes;Fred O'Donovan, Kathleen O'Regan, J.A O'Rourke, Sydney Morgan, Sara Allgood, Maire O'Neill, Joyce Chancellor, Arthur Sinclair, Harry Hutchinson, Felix Irwin, Edwin Ellis, Christopher Steele, Kathleen Drago, E.J Kennedy, Barney MulliganThis is the original West End Production, following a brief opening at the Fortune Theatre (May-June 1926). The Plough and the Stars transferred to the New Theatre (now the Noel Coward Theatre) on the 28 June 1926, and closed 4 September 1926.

US 1st Edition. Near Very Good condition with early fading to spine and thumb marks to prelims. No inscriptions. The author's very uncommon second short story collection including the story 'The Majesty of Law', a short story adapted as an episode of the 1957 film The Rising of the Moon.

Rusting staples, wrappers almost completely separated at the rear spine. 'Red House Museum Christchurch' label inside front cover. Inscribed by the author to the front cover. Pamphlet by the Rector of St. Lawrence, Isle of Wight. A paper read at the Meeting of the Oxford University Extension Students' Association, at Ashleigh, Friday Evening, November 10th 1899. Inscribed "The Rev. Walter Marshall, with the Author's compliments " to the upper front cover.

502 pages + xvi advertisements. Ownership names to cover "Sgt Shuttleworth V" (in ink) and "S/Sgt Bell" (in pencil). Complete, but well thumbed with corner bends/creases to many pages and inkstains to upper rear cover/advertising pages. Original manual published in March 1940 with sections on Appointments, Promotion, Rates of Pay, half-pay, retirement, widows, medals and clasps, etc.

Undated, but 1st Edition with "Book Production War Economy" text on verso of title page, and dustwrapper "London Calling Overseas" wartime proclamation. Very Good condition, with no inscriptions. In the scarce original dustwrapper which has ink wording to the reverse, edge tears (mainly to upper spine edges) and abrasion to the letter "P" on the front panel.

First edition. Scarce Pre-Publication Uncorrected Proof. Good+ condition. Toned spine, minor edge tears to leading edge of front wrapper, some foxing. No inscriptions. 191pp. Photographic illustrations. An account of the disastrous 1957 attempt to climb the Eiger via its risky north wall. Two separate teams of two climbers attempted the climb but only one man returned, thanks to the heroic efforts of the rescue team.

Very Good condition. Detailing the Nations taking part, the opening ceremony (on Thursday July 29th, 1948), and diary of events.

255pp. 1st Edition / 1st Printing. Very Good, clean, tight condition. Feint previous owner's inkstamp to front endpaper. In original dustwrapper which is not price-clipped. The wrapper has loss to the corner of the front panel, edge tears and tape marks to the reverse at the head/tail of the spine. Scarce in original dustwrapper.From the rear dustwrapper flap; 'Chelsea House Popular Copyrights series, 'a distinct innovation in book publishing. The books are not what are known as "reprints", but are original stories that have never appeared in any other edition'. Another innovation noted on the same rear flap is that 'Books can now be sent by telegraph.
