London: J. Woodward for the Author, 1712. Hardcover. Very Good-. Octavo. A-N8 O-Q4 R-S8 T4 (= 136 leaves; blank T4). [16], 253, [3, including errata]pp. title within plain double-ruled border. Citations in Hebrew (and occasionally Greek) throughout. Single line of musical notation in woodcut at p.73. Contemporary calf (lightly worn at extremities), spine lettered in gilt. When Behrens designed the AEG Turbine Factory in 1910 some of his assistants and students were Walter Gropius, Le Corbusier, Mies van der Rohe, and Adolf Meyer. In his lecture Behrens takes a firm stand against alcohol consumption going as far as to claim that alcohol is most pronounced among artists and brilliant thinkers and that it is rare that such persons do not see their demise as a result of alcoholism. Behrens commits to wanting to be a contributor to… Read More
