Former owner signature on half-title, top fore edge stained a dull blue. Interior toned, otherwise clean and clear.

Modena: La Societa' Tipografica. 1st Edition. Bound in early marbled boards with vellum spine and corners. Very Good. First edition work on the study of early Italian languages and of epigraphy. Text in Italian. Bound in early marbled boards with vellum spine and corners. Marbled paper is worn and scuffed with general wear. Vellum spine has hand written title and author with some additional discoloration and staining from time. Overall, covers are worn, but very strong. Bookplate and former store sticker on front pastedown. Pencil note on ffep. Large woodcut vignette depicting a geographical map of Italy held up by cherubs with a view of the city of Modena in the background with the Ghirlandina tower. Additional engraving on page 1 by Perotti. Interior has creasing, general toning with minor spotting, but all is in excellent condition and legible. London: Hodder and Stoughton (19 volumes) - Cassell and Company, LTD (3 volumes), 1935. 1st Thus. Very Good to Fine. A twenty-two volumes collection of the Plays and Works by J. M. Barrie, including Peter Pan. Published by Hodder and Stoughton and Cassell and Company, all uniformly bound in soft leather. Guilded device with the author's initials on the front of each volume. Five guilded designs repeated on spine with the gilded title of the set, gilded individual title of the work, and gilded publisher. Each volume is complete with original purple satin bookmarks (sometimes just frayed or lightened at the lowest edge). Top edges all gilded. Some slight rubbing to the lower edge of some volumes, all are in near fine to fine condition with clean and clear internals. Paris: L'Imprimerie de Didot Jeune, 1799. 4th. Very Good. Solid binding with a few cracks and scuffs. Gilding around edges and spine. Fine diamond design in leather over boards. Marbled fore edges. Clean and crisp pages. End pages present and have some foxing but limited. This work led to a renaissance of Greek language, culture, and history in the late 18th century.

New York: The Viking Press, 1956. First. Good/Fair to Poor. Published September 1956. In original, unclipped ($5.00) jacket in poor condition. Jacket has chipping, tears, and damp staining to rear, overall wear. Grey cloth over boards with phoenix design in red on front and on spine with same color lettering. Some dampstainingto tail of spine and back, dampness also slightly impacts lower interior margin on a large section, but only to the margin and minimally internally. Corners bumped. Bound in black leather over boards with gilded designs and lettering on front, spine, and back. Four raised bands on spine. Gilded edges. Silk bookmark ribbon and moire silk endpapers. With two small marks on the front cover, almost invisible but separating it from being As New. In unopened condition with very tight spine (pictures taken carefully).
