Not to be confused with the book which his father James wrote on Ashton. Presentation inscription from John Ross Culthart, a prominent banker in Ashton to the Venerable Archdeacon Rushton.

Original cloth, spine a bit frayed at spine ends and a little rubbed and faded, but a good, sound, copy. Some foxing and browning of the first and last few pages. Inscribed "from the author" on half title.

Manchester, John Heywood, 1895 and 1901. Two volumes, complete. Original green cloth, top edges gilt. Volume one a little rubbed at corners and spine ends, inner hinges cracked, but still tight and sound. This book was never issued with a dust jacket. Not to be confused with the post-war book by the same author and with the same title,but an entirely different contents.
