A very fresh and clean copy in a presentable jacket.After having lived several years with Sioux and Pawnee Indians Carver was given the name 'Spirit Gun' for his extreme skill with firearms. In his youth he lived on the Plains and took part in the great buffalo hunts of the 1860s where he meet many important figures of the day. He is best remembered as a sharp shooter for Cody's Wild West Show.

A very fine copy with slightly soiled dust jacket. 2000 copies of the book were printed in 1957, but only 1006 copies were bound at the time (in red cloth). In 1968 the remaining unbound copies were sold to Harlem Books who then issued the original sheets in blue cloth and with the printed dust jacket (as offered here). The dust jacket was printed for the original edition in 1957 but was only used in this second issue.
