With the typographic dust-jacket designed by Lacey Everett, priced at 16s. Very mild toning and spotting to edges and endpapers, otherwise a lovely crisp, clean copy. Jacket shows light rubbing only, with some toning to spine and some spotting to rear panel. Near fine. Greene's acclaimed novel set in the Belgian Congo, first published in Sweden in 1960. His previous novel 'Our Man In Havana', had impressed author friend Ian Fleming, who wrote an article about it for the Sunday Times and discussed the film adaptation on BBC radio. The rear of the dust-jacket of Greene's next book, 'A Burnt-Out Case', reprints part of Fleming's favourable book review [Gilbert D12]. No inscriptions, none are price clipped, some light uniform toning to spines. Generally near fine set; uncommon to find complete and in such bright condition.
