Excellent! My ten-month-old loves this book, and it's sophisticated enough for her to keep going back to for years. Very well-written, catchy rhymes. I especially like the rattlesnakes who "rattled in the shadow of the ocotillo door."
I chose this book because it was written by Margaret Wise Brown, but it's no Goodnight Moon. The language is so simple and repetitive that it sounds daft, and I have to add a whole lot of my own words to hold my little one's interest.
My ten-month-old's current favorite book. I use it to teach animal sounds, although the sounds aren't actually written down--just the names of the animals. This book is the perfect size for babies to hold and chew on.
