“Vampyre Kisses (The Last Witch, Book 1)” by Elizabeth J. KolodziejI received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review..I really liked “Vampyre Kisses” by Elizabeth J. Kolodziej. Overall, I would give it 4 STARS and recommend this book to Young Adult readers as well as Adult readers. I think the story line would satisfy both age groups. This paranormal novel has it all – vampires, werewolves, witches, gods, and goddesses. There was something in this book for almost everyone. I love paranormal books and all things supernatural so I definitely loved all the different characters in “Vampyre Kisses.” Faith is a young woman that is just going through the motions of life. She is never genuinely happy. One day she discovers the hidden world of the supernatural and she learns her true identity. After learning whom she really is, Faith’s depression lessens. Faith has to help the vampires and werewolves get their gems that were stolen. These gems are the most valuable thing to both species because they alone hold their survival. Trent, the vampire that introduced Faith to her new life, will be right alongside Faith helping her fight. They will need to fight and hope that good prevails over evil. I loved the characters in this novel. Faith was great and I just loved how she seemed like an average girl. I think her being an ordinary girl made it even better when she discovered she was a witch. I also really liked Trent. He was very old school and spoke very proper, but he was a tough guy at the same time and I loved it. The supporting characters complimented the main characters perfectly. I think everyone was just great throughout the whole story. If anything in this review sounds interesting to you then you should go and add “Vampyre Kisses (The Last Witch, Book 1)” by Elizabeth J. Kolodziej to your To Be Read list. There are also more books in the series you can check out as well.

“Revenge: No Statute of Limitations” by Whit GentryI received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.Whit Gentry did an amazing job writing this story. I think he managed to cover all the bases needed for the perfect thriller. It was absolutely awesome and I would give it 5 STARS overall. I would definitely recommend this book to fellow thriller fans. The thing I like most about this story is that we already know who is behind the crime. From the very beginning of “Revenge: No Statute of Limitations” we know who abducted the girls, we just do not know why. I think it was more intense wondering what this person’s motive was instead of other stories that you try to figure out who the suspect was. I enjoyed the multiple points of view in “Revenge: No Statute of Limitations.” It allowed the reader to get inside the heads of the suspect, victims, family of the victims, and the FBI. I thought it was great to experience the emotions of all the parties involved, regardless of how they were connected. Throughout the story, Whit Gentry had me asking why. I wanted to know why the kidnapper abducted the women; what the significance of keeping the women for seven months was; and what was really going on. I thought the author did a great job of keeping the reader guessing and trying to figure everything out. Even though we already knew who the kidnapper was, everything was still a mystery. I personally think it takes true talent to pull off a mystery like “Revenge: No Statute of Limitations” as well as Whit Gentry has. I loved everything about this novel. It was truly a great read and I would recommend it be added to your To Be Read list. If you enjoy a good Mystery, Suspense, or Thriller, then you are definitely in for a treat with “Revenge: No Statute of Limitations” by Whit Gentry. The author definitely wrote the story well, resulting in a well-deserved 5 STARS. Brianna Lee Book Reviewshttp://www.briannaleereviews.blogspot.com

Catch the Magpie

I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.I enjoyed reading, “Catch the Magpie (The Magpie Series, Book 1)” by Tina Pisco. I rated this Mature Adult novel 3 STARS overall. Main character Catherine Richardson, better known as Cat, was orphaned at a young age due to her parents’ death. She does not remember much about her parents, except she knows that her mother drowned in the sea. Fortunately, Cat was taken in by her mega-rich and super-successful great-grandfather. She lived well and received everything she could have wanted. Cat had a great group of friends and they loved to party together throughout New York – they even dipped into the paranormal some. Visions and nightmares would plague Cat’s mind making it hard to concentrate with all the distractions. When the time comes that her great-grandfather cannot run his business, he wants Cat to buckle down and learn it. Cat is forced to grow up on her 25th birthday, regardless of anything else going on in her life. My favorite part of this story was the characters. I especially liked Trevor. I loved his dialogue and he always said the funniest things and just made me smile. I thought Cat was a perfect match for Trevor. They were complete opposites and definitely attracted to each other. I also found Ramon to be very entertaining – he was fun to read. I liked that several characters had accents; I think accents are so cool, especially British, and Australian. In general, I just enjoyed the dialogue altogether – I found it very witty. I feel like the pace could have moved a little faster in “Catch the Magpie.” I enjoyed everything I was reading, except I think it took too long to have any action. I also wish that I were able to learn about the black haired woman in the brown dress a lot sooner. I think the story would have been even better if Cat focused on who the woman was and what the magpies meant. As a reader, I certainly wanted to see more of the paranormal aspect of this story. I would recommend this book to readers that enjoy entertaining characters and dialogue. Also, readers who like to read a little paranormal – but nothing too intense, would enjoy Tina Pisco’s “Catch the Magpie.”Brianna Lee Book Reviewshttp://www.briannaleereviews.blogspot.com

“Riser” by Becca C. SmithI received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review. This book is a good Young Adult, Paranormal/Science Fiction novel; there is suspense and mystery involved in the story as well. I recommend "Riser" by Becca C. Smith to readers, both teenagers and adults. I would rate this book 4 STARS overall. "Riser" is about a teenage girl named Chelsan who can raise and control everything dead within a four mile radius. She sees black swirling holes in the center of every corpse’s chest and it allows her to control them. This ability to contact the dead comes in handy when her family and everyone else from her trailer park are brutally murdered. Chelsan discovers she was the intended target and needs to find out what really happened that awful night. Check out “Riser” by Becca C. Smith to learn the answers that Chelsan found out. Join Chelsan in her adventures as a necromancer and also as an average, bullied high school student with a crush on a guy that doesn’t even notice her. You are sure to find something in this book you will enjoy! I thought that Ms. Becca C. Smith made a quality character out of Chelsan. Her character was strong and made a good heroine for teenagers to read about. I look forward to reading more books from Becca C. Smith and learning more about Chelsan and the supporting characters!Brianna Lee Book Reviewshttp://www.briannaleereviews.blogspot.com

I would recommend it for teenagers looking for a good book to read. I would also recommend it to Adults who like to read Young Adults novels. Overall, I rate this book 4 STARS because it kept me wanting to read it and find out what happened. I think Young Adults lovers will definitely enjoy "The Unsacred Gift" by C.S. Dorsey. The main character of this book has visions of how people are going to die. She tries to avoid contact with everyone, including her family, so that she would not have to deal with seeing any visions of their death. When she was a young child, she saw that her sister was going to die. When her sister disappeared, nobody - not even her own mom- would believe her when she told them about her vision. They just acted like it never happened. Now, years later when she returns home from college, her family is still acting like nothing happened. New and strange things are happening that she needs to figure out. She wants to get to the bottom of her sister's murder.I enjoyed the characters of this book. Cosmo's Reason

This book is an Adult Paranormal Romance. It has a little bit of everything when it comes to the magic world – Witches, Vampires, Shape-Shifters, Nymphs, Portals, Past-Lives, and so much more! If you are into the Paranormal and Fantasy genre then there should definitely be something that interests you seeing as there are so many things to choose from! As for the Romance aspect – definitely Adult. There are some graphic scenes that are somewhat frequent. I personally enjoy it (especially if it is well-written), but that is not for all readers so I just wanted to put that out there. “Cosmo’s Reason” is the first book in what will soon be a series. Overall, I rate it 3 STARS – in my ratings that means I liked the book and would check out more of the author’s work in the future. I will definitely read book number two when it is released!I enjoyed the way Losoya-Harthi constructed her characters. Reason Regan is a very likable character. Besides the Witch part, she could be the average girl that lives next door. She is a plus-size woman and has found herself unlucky in the relationship department. Then Cosmo, the Prince of all Vampires, comes into her life to protect her from Rogue Vampires in her small Ohio town. Reason and Cosmo have a unique relationship. Besides their current day relationship, it was discovered that they shared past-lives together. Cosmo is a sexy Italian Vampire that I would not mind having in my life! He is a gentlemen and an amazing lover, but also a fearless protector to Reason. As the story progresses, Reason gains her own confidence and is a much stronger woman by the finish of this book. I found myself routing for her throughout the entire story. Altogether, I did enjoy this book. Paranormal Romance is one of my all-time favorite genres. I always look forward to reading a good book, and I was not disappointed with Julie Losoya-Harthi’s “Cosmo’s Reason.” Like I said, I will definitely check out book number two in this series when it is available. I am sure it will be even better than the first!Brianna Lee Book Reviewshttp://www.briannaleereviews.blogspot.com
