Hardback octavo, dustjacket, good condition (in good dustjacket), edges lightly foxed, some edgewear jacket (reverse side lightly foxed & toned), spine ends & corners scuffed, few foxed spots & light toning endpapers, toned strip free flyleaves 266 pp. Humorous autobiography of Alexander Macdonald, the well-known Sydney humorist. Anecdotes of life on the Australian Broadcasting Commission, of Mo, and of Peter Finch. He spent most of his boyhood in a Catholic seminary school in Scotland. He joined the ABC in Sydney as a writer, and later wrote gags for Jack Davey and Roy Rene (Mo). The poet Kenneth Slessor rounds off the book with a lively panorama of Sydney bohemian life in the 1930s and 40s. .
