About This Item

London: J. M. Dent & Sons Ltd, 1955 . First edition. Cloth. Very Good Indeed/Very Good. 7.5" by 5". Douglas Glass. The first edition of this collection of short stories and essays by Dylan Thomas in the original dust wrapper. First edition, first impression, of A Prospect of the Sea and Other Stories and Prose Writings by Dylan Thomas in the original publisher's cloth binding and unclipped dust wrapper. Illustrated with a monochrome frontispiece of a photograph of Dylan Thomas and his family, taken by Douglas Glass. Collated, complete. A miscellaneous collection of short stories and essays, mostly written in the 1930s, such as 'Prospect of the Sea', which was inspired by the author's time at Laugharne. Dylan Thomas was a Welsh poet and writer, best known for the poem 'Do not go gentle into that good night'. In the original publisher's cloth binding and unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, very smart. There is some minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. The spine is very slightly faded. The dust wrapper is worn to the extremities with a few closed tears, some creases, and loss to the head of the spine. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean. Very Good Indeed
