Dylan Thomas (1914 – 1953)

Dylan Marlais Thomas was a Welsh poet and writer who is most famous for his Poems Do not go gentle into that good night and And death shall have no dominion. Thomas also became known as a literary radio voice and his work on the airwaves increased his popularity.

During the politically charged 1930s, Thomas's sympathies were very much with the radical left, to the point of holding close links with the communists, as well as decidedly pacifist and anti-fascist.

He was known as a "roistering, drunken and doomed poet" and received great acclaim and popularity during his short lifetime, which ended at 39 in New York City.
