About This Item

Sydney: ETT Imprint, 2007. Hardback small octavo, no jacket, very good condition, green boards, gilt title on cover & spine, tiny black & white photo title page, crease one page (from manufacture), minimal edgewear. 93 pp. These wonderful poems are written by Stanley Jack Marcus Goulston who was born in Sydney in July 1915. He graduated with honours in Medicine in 1939 and was a resident at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. He served in the 2nd World War as a Regimental Medical Officer to the 2/1st Australian Pioneers and went to the Middle East in the 6th Division. He was involved in the eight-month siege of Tobruk. Many of the poems in this book are about his family, and he is a treasured member of his large family. At the end of the book he has written a poem about turning 90, which is amazing and that he is still writing is very special and unique. (Both hardback and paperback editions have the same ISBN.).
