Fine in fine matching red cloth slipcase. Unpaginated. with 13 page introduction from the original edition. Folio, 43 x 29 cm. Limited edition, copy 288 of 500. Foreword by David Boxer, Director, National Gallery of Jamaica. Biographical Sketch of Hakewill by B.W. Higman, Department of History University of the West Indies. Original edition published 1825 in seven folios, each containing three plates. This edition with 21 full page color plates with tissue guards, with list of plates by number. ABBEY Vol. II. 683 for original edition. After this work, Hakewell turned to more definitively towards practical architecture. Handsome production.
