About This Item

This beautiful hard back book has been well kept and shows very little wear for its age. The spine which is sewn is sturdy but is pulling away from the covers. The spine of the book has a dark scuff mark at the top. The canvas covers of the book are mint! The slip cover, a formerly red cardboard stock cover is now faded to a pale maroon with age. Nevertheless, it is sturdy and crisp, as well. A fine book to add to your collection. Please see the photos for a better look at the book's condition. The pages are not even yellowed--thanks to the protection this slip cover has provided through the years. The illustrations are colorful and rich. See photos for clear depiction of condition.

Synopsis

Our Mutual Friend (written in the years 1864–65) is the last novel completed by Charles Dickens and is in many ways one of his most sophisticated works, combining deep psychological insight with rich social analysis. At one level it centres on, in the words of critic J. Hillis Miller, "money, money, money, and what money can make of life" but in a deeper sense it's also about 'human values'.
