The first fep is made of cork, the next page is the half title page, a short pre-introduction page, the title page, the copyright page, the dedication page, and the introduction pages by Lawrence Durrell are all made of different colored seemingly hand made and hand torn leaves.This is a great unsigned and unnumbered copy in an edition of 1399( the cork edition, with original photo of Henry Miller. A total of 1524 copies were made in 3 first editions. " Written in 1937-1938 in Paris, this book was penned without carbon & gifted as an intimate book letter to the Painter Hans Reichel who died 1958. Slip case is near fine, paper label is slightly soiled and top of slipcase which has Italian made floral paper covered boards. some nice external repairs to top of slipcase. This package is a serious collectors showpiece.
