New York: Charles L. Webster and Company, 1888. 1st Edition. Hardcover. Very Good. Mark Twain's Library of Humor". Published by the Charles L. Webster Company in 1888. Measures 9-¼" x 5-¾". First edition with matching dates on 1888 on the title and copyright page with no later printings noted, and the short story "Warm Hair" erroneously credited to Mark Twain on page 8 (BAL 3425). Very good minus condition in the publisher's original brown pictorial cloth boards with gilt lettering on the front board and spine. Rubbing and wear to hinges, spine ends, rear board, and corners. Internal repairs to both hinges. A few splits to binding internally, but all pages remain securely bound. Clean interior. Bookseller stamp to rear free endpaper.
