Philadelphia: H.C. Peck and Theo. Bliss, 1856. Cloth. Fair. Red cloth. 4 ¾ by 3 ¾ inches. 95 pp. Small black and white illustrations throughout. A rendition for children, of various fables by Aesop, including the horse and the lion, the tortoise and the hare, the mischievous dog, the man and his wig, etc. FAIR condition. Heavy fading, moderate scuffing and staining to the covers. Spine toned. Minor soiling. Cloth frayed, chipped and split along the extremities and spine. Text block shaken but intact. Child's doodles, names and scribbles on the endpapers and first and last few pages, with a few doodles/lines in the text throughout. Scattered staining throughout, with general soiling. General foxing.
