About This Item
Perth, Scotland: Matthew Gloag & Son, n.d. [ likely early 20th century]. Presumably tin, approximately 20 x 29 1/2”, printed on one side in color, promoting the port wines available from this firm, depicting a boat being loaded with barrels, captioned “Loading Port on the Douro.” This merchant is the producer of Famous Grouse; port barrels are now often used to age Scotch whisky. Minor scratches and wear, but still an excellent example.
