Contemporary Brown Full Leather Bindings, with gilt Decoration, Lines & Lettering to spines. Decorative Gilt Linear Borders to front and rear covers. Each Volume has a printed Title Page dated 1828. Vol I has an engraved Frontispiece of a portrait of David Hume, after Reynolds. Then an Illustrated Title Page (showing Richard I leaving Cyprus), followed by the printed one. 11 Further Full Page Plates in this volume. Vol II has an engraved frontispiece with a portrait of Tobias Smollett, opposite a Title Page Illustrated with "the death of General Wolfe". 4 Further Full page Plates. Vol. III has an engraved Frontis portrait of George III. 1 other Plate with a portrait of George IV. Some Foxing to some pages and plates, most text pages are clear. (see photos) 8 1/2" Tall.
