Illustrated endpapers, being a street map of early Sydney. The text is illustrated with 120 paintings and sketches, both coloured and black and white, from various illustrators of early Sydney town. Pale green coloured boards with a small illustration, in white, of a postal worker and his horse in the lower right-hand corner of the front panel with white writing on spine. Slight rubbing to the head and to the heel of the spine along with minor bumping. Heavy bumping to the book corners and shelfwear to the lower book ages. Dust marks to the top paper edge and there are a few marks to the boards.
