Erlangen: Hilpert, 1815. Paperback. Very Good. 26 p.; 24 cm. As printed, the title page left the specific date of the lecture blank; in pencil it was changed to "Die 3. Januar MDCCCXVI," indicating that, rather than being delivered in Dec. 1815, it was delivered on Jan. 3, 1816. Disbound from a collection of pamphlets owned by French homeopath Dr. Charles Ravel (1822-1887). The author, Johann Christian Friedrich Harless (1773-1853), was a German physician who served as a director of a clinical institute in Erlangen beginning in 1805 and in 1818 went to Bonn as a professor of pathology. Based on the natural philosophy of Schelling, he developed a theory of electropathology. In Very Good Condition: lacking stitching; title page slightly darkened along fore-edge; title page and p. 26 lightly soiled; otherwise, clean and bright. Scarce.

The covers are worn at the corners and bottom edges, the spine is faded and chipped, front inner hinge is cracked. "The Pharmacopoeia of 1864 had the merit of amalgamating the three Pharmacopoeias of Britain, but it had defects, and the Medical Council orders a new Edition to be prepared.
