No place(London): David Nutt, presumed Publisher, 1909. Wraps. Fair. Printed wraps, although MISSING the front wrapper and any pages up to the first page. Pagination runs 129-256. With a few black and white photo plates throughout. A journal devoted to the Folklore Society and folklore, containing papers on various topics. This issue contains "Head Hunting among the Hill Tribes of Assam," by T.C. Hodson, with photo plates, and describing the custom of headhunting of various tribes in Assam, although serving to dispel misconceptions and myths of the practice. Also present is an illustrated article "Customs of the Lower Congo People," by John H. Weeks, describing his observations while in Africa; and a short piece on the Straw Bear custom, with photo. FAIR condition, lacking the front wrapper and any pages up to the first page, although it appears only the front cover is missing. Slightly ex-library, with a stamp the first page. Moderate browning to the piece, with dark staining to the upper corners of the last several pages. Scattered soiling and foxing. Rear wrapper soiled and darkened, with heavy chipping and tearing along the extremities.
