The Dark Half follows Thad Beaumont, an author and recovering alcoholic. A writer of complex, cerebral fiction, Beaumont s work is often overlooked, but there is another side to the novelist. George Stark is a celebrated author of crime novels and not a very nice guy . What is notable about the two men is that they are one and the same. When Beaumont s pen name is outed, the author seeks to bury the pseudonym of George Stark in a mock funeral but what emerges from the faux grave is someone very real and very dangerous. Stephen King (1947 - ) is an American author, best known as the King of Horror. Having written nearly 70 books under several different names, King's work is known the world over. King s work has been adapted to fit screens, large and small. as well as comic books.

The Dark Half is a horror novel by Stephen King, published in 1989. Publishers Weekly listed The Dark Half as the second best-selling book of 1989 behind Tom Clancy's Clear and Present Danger. It was adapted into a feature film of the same name in 1993. Stephen King wrote several books under a pseudonym, Richard Bachman, during the seventies and eighties.
