Among the highlights noted were the following: a Selection from the Libraries, the property of the Duke of Anhalt consisting largely of illustrated books on Art, Architecture, Costume, Sport, Etc. of the XVI to the XVIII Centuries; a Ms. Armorial of the Golden Fleece and Nine Valuable Incunables, including a Fine Copy of the Ulm Ptolemy of 1486, from a Royal Library on the Continent; Collections of Early Works on Botany and Natural History and of Books from the Elzevir and Aldine Presses, and a small Collection of Fine French Bindings, 1569-1778, the property of a Gentleman; Tracts by Martin Luther, the property of Dr. Milbrand, of Darmstadt; Maps, Etc., including the Collection of the Late Sir George Fordham; a Horn Book of Silver Filigree, Norton, Ferrex and Porrex, 1570; a very fine copy (one of five perfect copies known) of Shakespeare's Richard II, 1608; Modern Books include Shelley's Address to the Irish People, from the Library of Denis Florence MacCarthy, Author of "Shelley's Early Life"; Kipling, Schoolboy Lyrics, 1881; and a Choice Collection of English Sporting and other books wìth coloured plates; the Autograph Leiters, Etc. include Verses by Lord Byron, Jane Austen and Percy Bysshe Shelley; the Autograph Draft of Burke's "Charaeter of Sir Joshua Reynolds "; and Fine Letters by General James Wolfe, L. Van Beethoven, W. A. Mozart, Thomas Carlyle, Thomas de Quincey, Sir Isaac Newton, John Wesley and Daniel Defoe. Wrappers worn with slight loss to head of spine and lower edge of front wrapper, otherwise Good.
