London: Bradbury & Evans, 1853. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket, As Issued. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. pp: [vi]vii-xvi [1]2-624. FIRST EDITION. Bound in light brown half leather over marbled boards, all edges trimmed. The novel was first published as a serial between March 1852 and September 1853. The first edition after the serial. Dickens uses this novel to satirize the British judicial system. Though the legal profession criticized Dickens' satire as exaggerated, this novel helped support a judicial reform movement, which culminated in the enactment of legal reform in the 1870s. This is a very good, or better, copy of the first edition.

Not in Melzi. No copies located. Apparently unrecorded booklet with text and illustrations produced completely in lithograph. 1875 1ed Jules Verne From the Earth to the Moon Astronauts SciFi Space Gun ClubJules Verne's adventure novels are some of the most popular and famous works of literature of all time. Part of the illustrious 'Voyages Extraordinares' series, his book 'From the Earth to the Moon' is one of the most influential works of science-fiction of the 19th-century. It tells the story of American weapon makers attempting to build an enormous space gun big enough to launch people onto the moon! According to Barron, this book is
"the first interplanetary novel to focus on the technical and organizational preparations for the voyage, using the actual blast-off as a climax…one of the definitive foundation stones of the science fiction genre."
