Copyright page bearing 1918 date and 'G O' code, most likely printed in connection with 1938 film version. A square and tightly bound copy, boards with solid edges and corners. Front board with minor discoloration along spine edge; likewise along rear spine edge, but less evident. Otherwise, boards clean and bright. Text block lightly toned. Previous owner's short gift inscription & 1939 date on front end paper. Glossy frontis. Contents clean. DJ not clipped (7575) complete and whole with corners gently rubbed. Rear panel with minor toning. Spine sunned, head & heel with shallow chipping. A beautiful copy; photographs available upon request. Size: 8vo - 7¾" - 9¾ Large.

Synopsis

Commonly named among the Great American novels, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, written by Mark Twain, is generally regarded as the sequel to his earlier novel, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer; however, in Huckleberry Finn, Twain focused increasingly on the institution of slavery and the South. Narrated by Huckleberry “Huck” Finn in Southern antebellum vernacular, the novel gives vivid descriptions of people and daily life along the Mississippi River while following the adventure of Huck and a runaway slave, Jim, rafting their way to freedom.
