New York: Charles L. Webster, 1891. Hardcover. 6 x 8 in. xvi, 318 pp., plus 18 pp. of adverts. Brown cloth boards , B&W text plates. 1891 stated on title pg. Condition is GOOD+ ; covers very clean but rubbed a bit, spine mildly toned. Some loss to both spine ends, corners bumped and worn. Front hinge has mild looseness but is holding fine with no break to the endpapers. Rear hinge is the same but has some small breaks to the endpapers at lower end. Name in pencil on second blank, with place: Vinyard Haven, Mass. Rear second blank has a small pencil note about the book. Text is clean and unmarked. Fic. RGR.

Synopsis

Commonly named among the Great American novels, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, written by Mark Twain, is generally regarded as the sequel to his earlier novel, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer; however, in Huckleberry Finn, Twain focused increasingly on the institution of slavery and the South. Narrated by Huckleberry “Huck” Finn in Southern antebellum vernacular, the novel gives vivid descriptions of people and daily life along the Mississippi River while following the adventure of Huck and a runaway slave, Jim, rafting their way to freedom.
