Martin O'Donoghue is a research fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Legal History and Legal Theory in Frankfurt. He is the author of The Legacy of the Irish Parliamentary Party in Independent Ireland, 1922-1949. Emer Purcell is a publications manager at the National University of Ireland. She is the coeditor of Eoin MacNeill: the Pen and the Sword.
