About 85% of the words in the text are his. The letters and poems were written over a period of 30 years from 1943 to 1973. The compilers have added linking material, information about place and time, and background material when needed. This book is to let Frank Webb, the man and brother, speak of his life and times through his letters to his family. The core of the book comprises the texts of 56 letters written by Frank to his sisters and brothers-in-law: hence the title of the book.
