Fuertes was a turn-of-the-century American ornithologist, illustrator and artist who set the rigorous and current-day standards for ornithological art and naturalist depiction and is considered one of the most prolific American bird artists, second only to his guiding professional predecessor John James Audubon. This book covers a correspondence between the young Sutton that help aid and inspire him in his formative years. It is obvious that Sutton fells he owes much of his career to Fuertes and this account is his sincere tribute to his friend and mentor. A clean very presentable copy.
