About This Item

James Schmitz is one of my favorite authors of SF. He was the only author that I know of to accurately predict the Internet, and one of the few authors of his era to create strong female protagonists. This story is his only true full length novel. It is a fun, creative piece of work which has stood the test of time.
This copy is the third printing of the first edition, by Chilton, the original publisher. Sage green boards, with black lettering on spine. Margins of the hardcover text are age toned and sunfaded a bit. Pages are unmarked and the binding is tight. Former owner's name on inside of front cover. DJ is not price clipped. DJ condition: some chipping to margins and spine, small closed tear repaired with tape on top of front.
overall the DJ is Good. The DJ illustration is funny. Just three young women, but the illustrator added a ray gun and and a Bohr Atom, just so that you would know that it was SF, I guess.
If you like Schmitz, then you should read 'The Demon Breed' which I consider to be his finest story. It would make an amazing movie.
