Cover states reprinted from the Memoirs of the American Anthropological Association, Volume I, Part 2, 1906, with a printing date of September, 1906 listed. A one inch piece of the corner of the cover has detached. Chipped edges, light soil and toning on edges, and a three-inch spine tear on brittle light grey wrapper. Pages 147-209, uncut. This was part of Albert Buell Lewis' doctoral dissertation at Columbia University, where he worked in the departments of anthropology and psychology. Lewis was most recognized for leading the Joseph N. Field South Pacific Expedition in Melanesia from 1909 to 1913. ; 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall; 63 pp .
