London: Typis R.N. Impensis Gualt. Kettilby, 1681. Book. Very good+ condition. Hardcover. First Edition. Quarto (4to). Two volumes bound in one. Vol. I: [xiv],138 pages of text. Vol. II: [vi], 145-306 pages, followed by [i] page of publisher's advertisement. Bound in early 18th century paper-covered boards and leather spine and corners; old paper label on the bottom of the spine. Measures 205mm (8 inches) in height. Ex-libris stamp on title page. Contains 13 engraved figures in the text. Lacks the frontispiece and 2 fold-out maps. About a dozen pages have tiny ink marks in the margins in an old hand, and there is minor scattered foxing. First edition of this well known fantastic cosmogony. Wing B5948. .
