Moderate-to-heavy rubbing to cover extremities; few small irregular fade spots and stains to rear cover and spine cloth; few tiny spots in front cover cloth. Prior owner bookplate affixed to front endpaper. Front endpaper half-way split away from hinge. Interior clean and tight.

With an especially fine decorative cloth cover--gold embossed view of columns from the Mosque at Cordova, Illustrated with both b & w photos and watercolors, probably by Howe's husband, John Elliott Most interesting for the last few chapters about attending the wedding of Alfonso XIII and being part of a party around the Prince of Wales and Mrs. Kepple; in mylar protective wraps, title on spine is faded. 1st.
