About This Item

London: George G. Harrap & Company, 1913. First edition. Cloth. Very Good. 8" by 6". M. Meredith Williams. A first edition of this uncommon biography of Scottish warrior Robert the Bruce. A first edition of this uncommon volume on Robert the Bruce, with sixteen illustrations and a map, collated and complete. King of Scots from 1306 until his death in 1329, Robert the Bruce was one of the most renowned warriors of his generation, and is a national hero for successfully regaining Scotland's position as an independent kingdom in the First War of Scottish Independence against England. In the publisher's original grey cloth binding with pictorial boards. Externally, rather smart. Lightly rubbed to the boards, a little more so to the joints and the spine. Lightly bumped to the head and tail of the spine, with a small closed tear in the cloth to the head. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are lightly age-toned but clean. Very Good
