About This Item
W. W. Norton & Company, New York. 1936. Enlarged and Revised Edition. 332 pages. The blue covers are in good condition, with some discoloration along the top of covers and spine. The title and author are in gold on the spine; there is mild wear at the corners and top/bottom of spine. The binding is solid. The dust jacket is in good condition; there is some minor loss at the top of the spine and there are a few small tears along the edges, all less than 1 in. in length. The front of the dust jacket is bright and attractive; the jacket is protected in a clear, archival removable cover. The interior of the book is clean with no spotting detected; the only writing is a small, faint, erased price in the top right corner of the front free endpaper. There is a bookplate from a previous owner on the inside of the front cover. The book includes 46 black/white plates, many of which are photographs of buildings such as Trinity Church in Boston, New York Public Library, and Midway Gardens in Chicago by Frank Lloyd Wright. The frontis is a lithograph by the author entitled "A vista of American Architecture".
