Crouch, From the author, James G. Johnson, Oct. 28, 1914." Octavo; [x], 126pp. Publisher's wine cloth with paper spine label. Boards rubbed at corners and spine ends, with some scattered smudging and scuffs to cloth and some chipping along edges of spine label. Binding in sound and pages unmarked.

Bound issue of the author's doctoral dissertation at the University of Virginia, which became a significant reference work for Southern literature.
