Lower front corner bumped and rubbed, upper edge of same with a few nicks, spine ends lightly rubbed, else a clean, tight copy – Internally fine – in the original color pictorial dust jacket (chipped and torn at base of spine panel, 1½" closed tear at base of rear fold).
First US Edition. The first book in Pullman's Sally Lockhart Quartet. Beware the seven blessings... When she first utters these words, 16-year-old Sally Lockhart doesn't know their meaning. But when an employee of her late father hears them, he dies of fear. Thus begins Sally's terrifying journey into the seamy underworld of Victorian London, in search of clues to her father's mysterious death.
