About This Item
"Pitcher Pollock" by CHRISTY MATHEWSON, the famous Major League Baseball Hall of Fame pitcher. 1914 1st edition, 1st printing; Dodd, Mead and Company; New York. The book features a frontispiece and three other full-page illustrations by Charles Relyea. The front cover has an inlaid baseball glove and baseball bat pattern.
Condition:
The cloth has faded along the spine, and along the top and right-hand edges of the front cover. Some very light soiling at the bottom of the front cover. Tiny cloth tear at the bottom-right corner of the front cover. Tight binding with no cracks and no loose pages. Nice interior - the pages are mostly clean with only an occasional small, light smudge and foxing spot here and there; the blank back-side of the half title page has numerous small, light foxing spots. Overall the book is in Very Good condition.
