Signed. Near Fine / near fine. "Pancho" Yturria was one of the most prominent men in South Texas. At one time or another, he was Knighted by Emperor Maximillion of Mexico, pardoned by Andrew Johnson, survived a few wars and at least a couple of assassination attempts. His life is meticulously researched and written, by his grandson, the late Frank Daniel Yrurria. The book is inscribed to E.B. Castro, a florist from San Antonio. "For E.B. Castro with my best wishes. Frank D. Yturria, June 14, 2007". Castro and 'The Rose Shop' arranged every important social event in South Texas for years. A significant association for those in the know. The book is in fine, unread condition. The dust jacket has very minimal shelf wear. Listed as Fine/Near Fine. The author has inscribed, dated and signed on the front free end page.
