About This Item

Signed. Near Fine / near fine. "Pancho" Yturria was one of the most prominent men in South Texas. At one time or another, he was Knighted by Emperor Maximillion of Mexico, pardoned by Andrew Johnson, survived a few wars and at least a couple of assassination attempts. His life is meticulously researched and written, by his grandson, the late Frank Daniel Yrurria. The book is inscribed to E.B. Castro, a florist from San Antonio. "For E.B. Castro with my best wishes. Frank D. Yturria, June 14, 2007". Castro and 'The Rose Shop' arranged every important social event in South Texas for years. A significant association for those in the know. The book is in fine, unread condition. The dust jacket has very minimal shelf wear. Listed as Fine/Near Fine. The author has inscribed, dated and signed on the front free end page.

About mark mcdonald

Book collector for over 30 years. I'm retired and ready to sell. I buy almost exclusively from estate sales and since I've lived in Dallas my whole life, I know the people and where to go. I am a low volume collector and seller and deal in higher quality books. I have a lot of signed and inscribed books. These signatures have not been officially authenticated, but I am confident in their authenticity so I will guarantee them in perpetuity if it can be reasonably demonstrated that the signature is incorrect. .
