Scribner's, 1895. First Edition. Hardcover. Good/No dust jacket. NY: Scribner's 1895, first edition. Tan cloth in good condition. Soiling to covers & spine, gutter is split (but holding) between pg. 160 and the plate there, title patches are worn. There is no foxing on any of the pages. All 10 plates and frontis are in beautiful condition with tissues present. Top edge gilt. Bookplate on front pastedown. No dust jacket. 7.5 x 10.75 in., 360 pp. Mummery made a number of important ascents in the Alps, especially in the Mont Blanc region. He perished on Nanga Parbat in 1895.
