Wellington: Pastor David Nield. 1924. Reprint, octavo, original illustrated red cloth boards, b&w illus, pp 303. Contents clean, near-fine condition. Rosalind Amelia Young (1853 - 1924), described on the title page and front board as "A Native Daughter", was born on Pitcairn Island and was the great-granddaughter of John Adams, one of the mutineers of HMS Bounty who settled on the island. Her book, first published in 1894, is one of the few documentations of the islands' history and drew upon the direct experiences of several generations of islanders, including those of HMS Bounty. The book is illustrated with photographs and drawings. 8th printing. Boards.
