The two volume second edition of this work, 'with large additions, and amendments'. Very scarce in all editions.Ball's work provides information on treating various ailments, and discusses their causes, symptoms and methods of diagnosis, and offering 'A Variety of Efficacious and Elegant Extemporaneous Prescriptions' in order to treat these conditions.With the large blue pencil inscription 'D.' to the head of each title page.With an advertisement to the rear of volume I.With the stamp of the Middlesex Hospital Library to the first page of chapter I, volume II.ESTC N5047A very scarce mid eighteenth century medical work. Rebacked, in full calf bindings. Retaining the original boards and endpapers. Externally, significantly rubbed to board perimeters. Volume I front and rear joints strained, and lightly tender. Internally, volume II firmly bound, with volume I binding tender throughout, with pages 81-254 detached and loosely inserted, and with first contents leaf detached and loosely inserted. Stamps to one leaf of volume II, with inscriptions to each title page. Pages bright, and generally clean, with only the odd spot. Fair
